Pecan-Crusted Cranberry Cheese Balls

Pecan-Crusted Cranberry Cheese Balls

We make these around the holidays, and whenever we need a festive hors d'oeruvre. If you've got any young kitchen helpers around, enlist them to smoosh the cheese into balls.

Ingredients:

8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded (about 2 cups)
3 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
3 tablespoons dried sweetened cranberries
2⁄3 cup finely chopped pecans

Instructions:

In a bowl, mix together cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and cranberries. Form mixture into bite-size balls and roll in the pecans, pressing gently to help the nuts adhere. Refrigerate in an airtight container until ready to use. Let come to room temperature before serving.

Servings: about 30 balls
