Hey Jamie and Bobby: A Christmas dinner story. I was invited out to dinner. The entree was prime rib, boneless. I arrived there around 4:30 as everyone was told that dinner would be at six sharp. I walk into the kitchen and there is the beef sitting on the countertop. I said, is it done? I was told no, it will only take an hour so I’m putting it in at 5 o’clock. I about dropped. The beef was 8 pounds. So I, as well as everyone else, pigged out on the hor derves or however you spell it, especially the cheese fondue.
I happened to see a cooking magazine on the coffee table and picked it up and there was prime rib featured. Two hours minimum for a 10 pounder. Plus the temperature was 400. The hostess had hers at 350. So being the “cook” that I am and family, I suggested that she turn the temp. up and get the darn thing in the oven as it will take 2 hours. So 6 o’clock came and went; 6:30 came and went; 7 o’clock came and went. Finally at 7:30 dinner was on the table. I honestly couldn’t eat much because I was too full of fondue!!!!
Love your blog and look forward to it next year. Maybe your baby brother will contribute once in a while?????!!!!!
Blessings to everyone out there in blog world. I also enjoy reading what you have to say.
About had a heart attack when I heard Urban Meyer, Gators coach was calling it quits. Everyone was in shock but now he’s just taking a leave of absence. I guess the God is a GATOR.
Love and hugs to you both. JANN

I am looking forward to coming to see ya’ll soon. Maybe my This summer. I have tried to make it the last three years for my birthday, which is in October. But , the first year my mama
got sick and made her Heavenly Journey home on Oct. 22nd at the age of 93. The next year my sister got sick and I went to take care if her, so missed my birthday trip again. Last year my daughter came to visit from California, she is a Surgical Veternarian, so miss my birthday with y’all again. I decided I now need to plan a different date then Oct. LOL
Happy New Year and God Bless

So, I have to echo everyone else and say thanks too, Jamie, for the blog and for your postings on Twitter. It was your blog that introduced me to some of these great tweeple, and Twitter was where I really got to know them. We have had some interesting, enlightening, and frequently funny almost-real-time conversations there. And it’s been fun.
Always enjoy reading your entries and look forward to more in 2010!
Happy New Year to you, your family, and the blog/Twitter family!!

I was so happy to get your new cookbook as a christmas gift. I only have one comment - I wish there were more pics of Bobby, I have the biggest crush on him! I also wish you would come visit us in the Pacific Northwest for your tours. If I never meat Bobby, how can we ever get married?
But in all seriousness, I LOVE the format and look of the new cookbook and think you are the greatest!!!

Hi, Jamie -
I just wanted to share that on New Year’s Day my girl friends, my sister, my niece, her boyfriend and I got together to watch the final episode of “Doctor Who” with David Tennant and we made Deen food (that’s what we called it). My sister whipped up your Mom’s crockpot mac and cheese, I made her crockpot Steak Swiss and for dessert (we’d cried a lot), I presented them with the Deen Bros. Truffle Pie.
Not a crumb of anything was left, so thanks for all your hard work; it’s really appreciated.
Love to you and the entire family and a great 2010!
